Updates to Fenestra
BIND has a new, simplified, combat system. Over the next month will be a lot more playtesting, so it’ll receive more updates, but probably minor fixes.
The Side Quests have had an overhaul - some of the paragraphs weren’t entirely clear at a glance, so the new standard (where applicable) is to have each scene begin with:
- Background.
- Example boxtext.
- Explaining the scene.
- A series of ‘if the PCs do X, then perhaps Y’.
I’m hoping to push the focus into quickly showing the concepts, so the GM can spend as little time as possible reading, and continue orchestrating the scene when the PCs do something unexpected.
The area now has a map. While I still like the idea of the players mapping out an unmapped area, and adding their own ideas of what’s the area looks like, it’s easier for GMs to take in the ideas.
The map should really have a legend, but I’m not putting that in until I can do it properly - probably with tikz.
