BIND: Core Rules

BIND is an open-source RPG with supportive rules that resolve quickly.

• The character creation: 15 minutes,
• Combat: 5 minutes
• Death: imminant

Story Points

Spend Story Points in-game to reveal helpful elements from your past, then explain them.

• Spend a point to know the Dwarvish language, and tell us how you came to know it.
• Need to spend XP mid-session? Spend a point, buy some Seafaring, and tell everyone how to learnt to sail
• Dungeon looks too dangerous? Time to rope in an old ally to help with the mission.

If the character survives, they will have a respectable history that fits seamlessly into the world.  If not, the player selects a new character from the pool of all Allies introduced through Story Points.

Combat

All combat rolls are resisted. When you miss, the enemy hits you. When the enemy misses, you hit them.

We don't roll Initiative here - just spend your Action Points to pull of manoeuvres.

• Spend 1 to guard an ally
• Spend 2 to swing that sword
• Spend 1 more to flee

Magic

Every spell affects 1 target, and takes a long time to cast. However, you can increase the spell's level to modify it:

• Add 1 spell level to cast quickly
• Add 1 more to target multiple people.
• Or add 2 more spell levels to target multiple areas - set fire to three rooms in a dungeon, or makes vines across half the town.

Infinitely Hackable

The project is 100% open source (GPL). You can add/ remove/ change anything (including the images), or use them in your own project, as long as it's covered under the same licence.
